Garden Clearance

The Friends of Insole Court Garden Group held their second garden clear-up session on Saturday. Their aim is to turn the overgrown Victorian Garden in Llandaff, into a community garden with rentable plots and teaching facilities for youngsters.

Amongst the 26 volunteers was 81 year old Glyn Matthews, a retired environmental health officer, who, with his wife Jill, has been a Friend of Insole Court for 15 years. He said: “I enjoy the friendly atmosphere at the Court and want to help make this lovely house viable”.

John Isaacs, the Chairman of the Garden Committee, was delighted with the turnout. He said: “We hope to plant fruit trees and have raised beds to allow access for disabled gardeners in the future, but at the moment we’re still uncovering the history of this fascinating aspect of Victorian life”. More sessions are planned, for more information please contact John Isaacs HERE
